KALAMAZOO CHIROPRACTIC & REHABILITATION
I built Kalamazoo Chiropractic & Rehabilitation around a simple belief: care should help people do more of what matters to them, not just feel better for a few days. — Dr. Anthony Kopp

FROM DR. ANTHONY
Founder of Kalamazoo Chiropractic & Rehabilitation | Chiropractor & Rehabilitation Specialist
I've been where you are. And I know how frustrating it is when your body starts holding you back.
My name is Dr. Anthony Kopp, and I'm the founder of Kalamazoo Chiropractic & Rehabilitation.
But before I was helping people overcome chronic pain and get back to the activities they love, I was dealing with my own injuries.
I've suffered four major back injuries in my life. Two of them were so severe that I had to stop doing almost everything I enjoyed.
Golf, exercise, training, even everyday movements became difficult.
As someone who has always loved being active, that was incredibly frustrating.
The hardest part wasn't just the physical pain. It was feeling like I was losing the ability to do the things that made me who I was.
And I wasn't willing to accept that as my future.
My Injuries Changed the Way I Look at Healthcare
Through my own recovery, I became increasingly interested in understanding why injuries happen, why pain keeps returning, and what it actually takes to build a stronger, more resilient body.
I started looking beyond simply treating the area that hurt.
I studied how the body moves, how different joints and muscles work together, and how limitations in one area can create problems somewhere else.
I began changing how I moved, how I trained, and even how I swung a golf club.
Rather than just trying to get out of pain, I focused on building a body that could handle the things I wanted to do.
And the results changed my perspective.
Over a two-year period, I increased my golf clubhead speed by 17 mph and lowered my handicap from 15 to 3.
More importantly, I was able to return to playing and training without the recurring back problems that had previously held me back.
That experience helped shape the entire philosophy behind Kalamazoo Chiropractic & Rehabilitation.
Why My Approach Is Different
Here's something I've learned through my own injuries and working with patients:
Just because something hurts doesn't mean that's where the entire problem is coming from.
You can stretch your hamstrings every day, get your back adjusted repeatedly, or strengthen your knees, but if you're not addressing the factors contributing to your symptoms, you may keep finding yourself right back where you started.
That's why I don't take the traditional adjustment-focused approach to chiropractic care.
Instead, I take the time to understand how your body moves, where you may be compensating, and what's preventing you from doing the activities you enjoy.
Then we build a plan around you.
Not a generic list of exercises. Not endless appointments for temporary relief.
A personalized rehabilitation program designed to improve your mobility, strength, stability, and ability to handle the physical demands of your life.
Because my goal isn't to make you dependent on me.
My goal is to give you the knowledge, strength, and confidence to take control of your body for years to come.
I Believe Your Best Physical Years Don't Have to Be Behind You
Today, as a chiropractor, business owner, husband, father, and golfer, staying active means more to me than simply exercising.
It means having the ability to play with my kids, enjoy time with my family, compete on the golf course, and keep doing the things I love as I get older.
And that's what I want for my patients.
I don't want you to stop golfing because your back hurts.
I don't want you to give up working out because your knees bother you.
And I certainly don't want you to believe that losing your strength, mobility, and independence is simply an unavoidable part of aging.
I believe you should be able to build a body that supports the life you want to live, not one that forces you to constantly make compromises.
That's why I started Kalamazoo Chiropractic & Rehabilitation.
To give active adults a different option when the traditional approaches haven't gotten them where they want to be.
Your Next Chapter Doesn't Have to Look Like Your Last One
If you've been dealing with pain for months or years, you've probably already tried a few things.
Maybe you've been through physical therapy. Maybe you've seen a chiropractor, tried injections, or spent countless hours stretching and exercising.
And maybe you're beginning to wonder whether you'll ever feel like yourself again.
I understand that frustration because I've experienced it.
But I also know how much can change when you have a clear understanding of your body and a plan designed around what you actually need.
You don't have to settle for doing less just because you're getting older or have been injured.
If you're ready to find out what might be holding you back, I'd love to have a conversation.
