Health responsibility
Your Health Journey Is Yours
"Health is a matter of choice, not a mystery of chance.” Aristotle
After working with 1000 clients, the ones that do the best have one thing in common.
It is not they are stronger, or more flexible.
They treat their health like a job, something that you work at and always improve.
The others, well they see me as the person that will fix them.
Here is what I want you to get out of this article, your health is your responsibility and yours alone.
The doctor, PT, chiropractor, can help. They can provide information, tools, and techniques to help you, but it is your responsibility to execute.
Being a dad has taught me one major lesson, that is to do what I say I am going to do.
A 4 year old has no concept of time, if you tell them something they expect it to be done immediately. You try to explain the party isn't until 4pm. It's 10am and they are ready to go.
People I work with are the same. They want the relief now, the weight loss tomorrow, or the strength in a week.
If it doesn't work immediately, they think it won't work for them.
This falls on the medical system. We are told if we take this pill our pain will go away, our blood pressure will be lowered, or the chiropractor that gave 1 adjustment and the patient was back to 100%.
While these techniques are necessary, they take all of the responsibility away from the patient and put it on the method.
There is a reason it is called a health journey. What worked when you were 20 doesn't always work when you are 50. You need to learn, adapt, and execute on the plan you have. If it doesn't work then you go back and create a new plan, not give up.
When you take responsibility of your own health and body, it is amazing how fast things actually change. Your mood, your energy, and overall well being.
Stop waiting for the magic pill and do something today.
